History of the creation and analysis of the poem "The Cloud" Lermontov

The April of 1840.Lermontov has to go to the Caucasus - already for the second time - because of a duel with the son of the French ambassador. The great poet says goodbye to his friends, bitterly and melancholy to realize that tomorrow he will leave his homeland ... Then he saw the clouds floating over the Neva, and the lines began to be born of themselves. From this point on, the analysis of Lermontov's "The Cloud" poem should begin. Being written as if by chance, it nevertheless amazes with the depth of psychology and the magnitude of the philosophical generalization.

Lyrical plot and composition

The poem of interest is constructed of threestanza. The first of them opens with a dynamic landscape-mood, which represents the Lermontov-typical space formed by the sky-earth axis. However, the main emotional background in the work is not formed by clouds. An analysis of Lermontov's poem showed that it is precisely the sense of loneliness, homelessness that contrasts with the peaceful sketch, which is the main one here. The lyrical hero compares himself with the wandering clouds, and this especially becomes apparent in the second stanza, because, in fact, the author's alter-ego in rhetorical questions names the reasons for his expulsion. Envy, anger, slander poisonous - all this on the growing only emphasizes the complete disregard, loneliness of the lyric hero.

But then the resemblance that has arisen is completely denied,as shown by the analysis of Lermontov's poem M. Yu. "Clouds." In the third stanza, the main, conceptually significant, is precisely the difference between the lyric hero and the clouds: the last, third-party observers (but not participants) of the world's bustling world are absolutely free. They do not have a homeland, which means they can not be considered genuine exiles. The final chord of the poem is a powerful stream of loneliness and complete lack of freedom, painted in tragic colors.

Lyrical hero

The period when the "Clouds" were written was very difficultfor the poet. He felt a colossal inner discord because he could not control his own destiny. This is especially felt in the image of the lyrical hero, who experienced colossal loneliness. In fact, if you study the entire work of the poet as a whole, and do not exclusively analyze the poem "Cloud" Lermontov, you can see that almost the only way out for the lyrical hero was the eternal deliverer - death. Far from trying to comprehend the complex nature of Mikhail Yurievich, one can, however, say that this understanding was gradually reflected in his propensity for duels. Some contemporaries even claimed that the poet was deliberately looking for death in order to escape from this world, in which he literally choked.

Conceptual level

Continue to consider the "Clouds". M.Lermontov (the analysis of the poem clearly showed this) created a poetic image, which can be transferred with a small stretch to many representatives of the generation of the 40s. He did not experience events that allowed him to show his heroism (like the battle of Borodino). The war in the Caucasus was such an empty and absurd undertaking that it is unlikely that its participants will dignifyly enter the annals of history. Cold, senseless clouds are comparable to Pechorin from the "Hero of Our Time", who because of extreme selfishness puts psychological experiments on other characters, in some cases ending very tragically (we recall Grushnitsky).

However, there is another possible interpretationa poem that somewhat contradicts the first. The usual seemingly landscape sketch was created by the poet to demonstrate a striking disagreement between man and the harmonious nature that the clouds represent. The analysis of the poem by Lermontov "Three Palms" shows the same thing, placing emphasis on the consumer's attitude to the world around him. And it will certainly make itself felt, at times very destructive forms.

Means of expressiveness

Analysis of the poem "The Cloud" Lermontovsuggests, in addition, the study of means of expressiveness. They are represented mainly epithets, wearing a metaphorical color ("barren fields"), and the personification: the persecuted clouds are compared with homeless wanderers. Of the unmentioned syntactic figures, there is also an anaphor - the repetition of the "or" union in a series of rhetorical questions in the second stanza, which gives the poetic text greater emotionality.

Rhyme system

Analysis of the poem "The Cloud" Lermontov comes toonly the system of versification remains unclarified. The text is written with a four-foot dactyl; rhyme cross. Lermontov uses several unexpected consonances ("pearl" - "southern"), but this only demonstrates the richness of his poetic language.

Thus, the "Clouds" of Lermontov are one of the many tops of Russian poetry of the century before last.
